Who are you? Rockwell Information Systems was founded in 1985, and has been working under contract with the EPA since 1987. In 1990, the EPA's Office of Enforcement selected us to design and write their new, high-powered enforcement system that assembles and integrates data from over a dozen databases. For the first time, Rockwell Information Systems is using this system to provide the public with the exact same data used by EPA enforcement personnel. Why have I never heard of you before? We have remained a small, private company, and have only recently made our services available to the general public. Is what you do legal? Yes. For many months, Rockwell Information Systems lobbied EPA to make this data available to the public, and EPA finally agreed that it was perfectly legal and appropriate to do so. Does EPA support you in providing this information to the public? EPA neither supports us nor detracts from us. For the purposes of acquiring this information, Rockwell Information Systems is treated just like any other member of the general public. Can I get this information anywhere else? For all practical purposes, no. Rockwell Information Systems is intimately familiar with both the EPA enforcement software - which we designed and wrote - and the underlying enforcement data. There are literally thousands of data elements to choose from, and the complex retrieval procedures must be perfectly formed or the results will be at best, ambiguous; at worst, completely wrong. There are several other organizations that offer small subsets of this information using outdated copies of some of the data, but only Rockwell Information System has the knowledge and ability to extract all the information directly from EPA's enforcement databases. We access the exact same data that EPA enforcement personnel use to monitor and target facilities. Which databases are available? AFS (Clean Air Act), PCS (Clean Water Act), RCRIS (Hazardous Waste), CERCLIS (Superfund), TRIS (Toxic Releases), DCK (Civil Docket), CRM (Criminal Docket), NCDB (National Compliance Database) SETS (Site Enforcement Tracking) and several others. Are your services expensive? Our services are a bargain. We can provide you with the foremost experts in the industry for less money than you would pay for an entry-level lawyer. Who uses your services? Our clients typically include corporate managers, facility supervisors, environmental attorneys and consulting firms. What exactly can you do for me? Rockwell Information Systems can provide an entire range of services including a complete environmental profile of a facility or company, mailing lists, and reports containing information about emissions, inspections, penalties, etc. We can also provide you with the same information about your competitors. Does EPA ever have errors in their data? EPA often has errors in their data, and our clients are quite often surprised at what they see. If there are errors in the data, can you do anything about it? We will soon be initiating a service for our clients where we act as a liaison between them and the EPA in clarifying and correcting problems with their environmental record. This is an exciting prospect for our clients who have traditionally not known where to turn for help when problems arise with the EPA. I'm worried about confidentiality. What is your privacy policy? Our privacy policy is described here. I only need your services on a single occasion. Can you help me? Our resources are limited due to the expertise involved in interpreting EPA's complex data systems. We will not hire staff as filler just to obtain more business, and as a result, our personnel are highly skilled, highly trained, and quite busy. We must necessarily give priority to clients with whom we have ongoing relationships, and we will not compromise our integrity by trying to rush a product out to a new customer. That having been said, time permitting, we are happy to work with new customers on a one-time basis, and we promise to perform all work at the same high level our clients have come to expect. I'm interested. What should I do? Call us at 703-534-4799, or Email us at rockwell@epadata.com. An officer from our company will contact you to discuss your needs, and we will send you a proposal without obligation on your part. Do you have anything else to tell me? Yes. Rockwell Information Systems should be an integral part of every company's environmental program. We are the foremost experts in the industry, and are here to serve you. How could you possibly not have us on your team? Back To Top |
